Sowing Stories - A storykeeping circle based on land, food, and memory.

Sowing Stories: Memory in the Soil

Calls in a sacred reciprocity between land, memory, and storytelling, honoring the ways the earth holds our histories and how food becomes a vessel for remembrance, survival, and care. Rooted in inner recollective practices, this gathering explores food not only as sustenance but as living memory embedded deep within our DNA.

Through reflection, conversation, and creative practice, participants will explore the ways seeds, recipes, migration, and oral histories become acts of resistance, cultural preservation, and community healing.

Workshop Details

Total Time: 4 Hours (including breaks)

Focus

  • Center personal and ancestral experiences of land and food.

  • Explore the intersection of food justice, cultural survival, and community and familial sovereignty.

  • Use storytelling as a tool for memory activation.

  • Create one piece of shared or personal storytelling (journal entry, poem, or scene).

2nd Annual Harvest Festival

2nd Annual Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival at Ceiba Valley Farm. Music, workshops, farm tours, food, and community. Celebrate the end of growing season.

Come celebrate another growing season with us at Ceiba Valley Farm

Our annual Harvest Festival happens once a year at the end of the growing season, before we close out for the winter months. Come enjoy offerings from our harvest of vegetables and cut flowers, learn about our land sovereignty project, meet the owners of Ceiba Valley Farm, tour the land, and bask in the fall sun as we play tunes into the sunset across our 16-acre farm.

The day will include a land tour, workshops, a community potluck, activities for kids, and music from rotating DJs. There will be space to exchange knowledge, share stories, and be together in celebration.

We invite folks to bring a dish to share. Please include a label with ingredients and allergens.

Carpooling is encouraged AND PARKING IS LIMITED — a sign-up link will be shared closer to the date.

This festival is a marker of time, a reflection of care, and an invitation to gather in rhythm with the land and each other.

Collective Farming thru History political-education-workshop

Collective Farming thru History political-education-workshop

Unlearn the concept of ownership and explore collectivist farming through historical and contemporary models, including North Korea, Cuba, Chiapas, and beyond.

This workshop invites participants to study alternatives to capitalism and consider what sacrifices and possibilities emerge within collectivist systems.

Through guided discussion, political education, and time on the land, we will ask: what could it look like to build our communities post-revolution? How do we prepare to share resources, land, and time? What does socialism as a path toward communism ask of us in practice?

The experience includes an introduction to key frameworks, group discussion, and a tour of the Ceiba Valley grounds to connect political theory to land-based practice.

This space is intended for intergenerational participants (13+) who are curious about anti-capitalism, food systems, and collective futures.

Neither Poetry Workshop

Join us for a 3-hour, critique-free writing workshop designed to help you explore your creativity, emotions, and inner worlds.

Join us online on Saturday April 25th, 2026 from 5-8PM EST and 2-5PM PST for a 3-hour, critique-free writing workshop designed to help you explore your creativity, emotions, and inner worlds in a supportive, confidential space.

Neither Poetry offers an intentional environment for writers of all levels to engage with storytelling, reflection, and imagination, without pressure to perform or share. Whether you prefer to write quietly, listen, or participate more actively, you are welcome here.

Through personalized writing prompts and immersive ambient sound, we’ll move through exercises that invite vulnerability, play, and curiosity. This space centers QTBIPOC voices while remaining open to anyone ready to write, reflect, and connect.

What to expect:

  • A critique-free space to write freely and explore what feels messy or unresolved

  • Guided writing prompts paired with live ambient sound and music

  • Opportunities to connect with other writers navigating identity, memory, and transformation

  • A return to playful, intuitive, and imaginative writing practices

  • A confidential and supportive environment to hold complexity together

No prior writing experience is necessary. Reading your work aloud is completely optional.

About Neither Poetry
Neither Poetry began in 2023 as a bi-monthly workshop in Oakland, creating intimate space for QTBIPOC writers to explore creativity and vulnerability through sound and prompt-based writing. The project has evolved into a broader platform for storytelling, performance, and sonic experimentation, including Neither FM on Sutro FM.

After a period of rest and mourning, Neither returns in collaboration with Ceiba Valley Farms, continuing its commitment to holding space for what is unresolved, asking questions instead of offering answers, and supporting writers in building new worlds through language.
